Decide where every item will go before you get there. At Mozart Moving, our job isn’t complete until your last item is in its proper place. That said, you don’t want to move thousands of miles only to find there’s not enough room for all your bedroom furniture, or that your appliances don’t fit.

Don’t just rely on square footage. If a printed layout is not available, you can use graph paper to easily draw out your new floor plan, including closets, doors, and windows. Next, measure your furniture to get a layout plan in place before you arrive. This simple step will save you money in the long run and the move will go smoother.

Determine which items need to stay with you.

While Mozart Moving can handle packing boxes for you, it’s smart to keep a box or two separated that includes items you’re going to need right away when you get to your new destination. This includes things such as towels and linens, a few dishes, and a few items to cook with. Of course, you’ll also want to pack suitcases with your most-used toiletries, clothing, and other personal necessities.

Research parking regulations ahead of time. When the Mozart Moving arrives at your new home or office, you want to make sure they have room to park. In most cases, we require 35-40 feet to park the truck. If you’re moving into an apartment building or high rise, check ahead of time to see if there are any specific move-in requirements, such as reserving the freight elevator.
